Many people believe that t shirt printing is much of a complicated process.
Actually, there's no proof to that. As a matter of fact, school kids can do this
in their school rooms one hour and come out with their custom t shirts after the
class is done. All it requires is to think of a design and gather all the
materials needed for the project.
You will require an embroidery hoop or
rectangular frame for the materials. Make sure to check if the design size will
fit into the chosen frame. These can be found in craft stores everywhere and
they're very cheap. Next, you would need a cloth material like a silk screen or
even a chiffon cloth if you can't find the silk screen. Tulle is not an option,
the holes are large and may cause smearing of the paint. Be sure that you find Functional Fabrics Wholesalers
a
cloth material thin enough to allow the paint to flow through very
easily.
As for the type of paint, you may choose latex but they're really
washable. Choose a cloth paint that are permanent. They are available in various
textures and colors. The you'll also use a rubber scraper to spread the paint so
it could stick to the tshirt. This will make sure that the layer of paint is
thin enough to dry fast and sure on the t shirt material. You need a rubber
scraper for without it, your paint may not be evenly spread out therefore you
could ruin the entire design.
Now, for you design, look for a blank paper
and draw or print out the design that you want. For the newbies, start with one
or two colors first. You may start to select complicated designs once you're
already experienced enough in t shirt printing. Place a stencil over your design
and cut it according to the size of your frame. If you need two colors, you'll
need two frames also one for each of the color.
Cut out the stencil
design delicately ensuring that the 2nd color parts are not cut out. For the
second color design, only cut out the design corresponding that color and skip
the design of the other color. Then place newspapers in your t shirt. Position
them flat onto a surface and also tape the shirt down so it won't move around a
lot when you perform the t shirt printing. Make adjustments on the newspapers
inside the shirt making sure no wrinkles will appear on the surface of the
shirt. Then you position the stencil to the area where you need the design and
place the screen on top of the design. Use only a small amount of the paint and
with the scraper, scrape the paint in just one motion Repeat another time. Then
remove the stencil as well as the screen and do this carefully. Then air-dry the
shirt. That is it!
